آریتا فرانکلین (به انگلیسی: Aretha Franklin) ( زاده ۲۵ مارس ۱۹۴۲ )، خوانندهٔ توانای سبک سول و آراندبی و از مشاهیر بزرگ آواز و موسیقی تاریخ آمریکا است.[۱]

نمي‌دانم به خدا و بهشت اعتقاد داريد يا نه. اما آرتا هديه‌ايست از سوي خداوند. وقتي او كلمات را بيان مي‌كند مي‌بينيد كه هيچ كس نمي‌توانسته بهتر از اين آنها را ادا كند. او دليل علاقه زن‌ها به آواز خواندن است! صداي او همه چيز را با هم دارد: تكنيك، قدرت، حس و… او هر چه كه مي‌خواند را از ته دل مي‌خواند و به آن اعتقاد دارد. از آن گذشته نوسان زيادي هم در كارش مشاهده نمي‌شود. چراكه خواندن براي او بازي نيست.

وقتي كودك بودم عادت داشتم به صداي آرتا گوش كنم، چون مادرم هر روز بلااستثنا «هيچ راهي نيست» و «كار درست را انجام بده، زن» را در خانه پخش مي‌كرد. مي‌ديدم كه مادرم وقت گوش كردن به آنها گريه مي‌كند، من هم گريه مي‌كردم. كم‌كم با گوش دادن آهنگ‌هاي ديگرش فهميدم كه چرا مادرم گريه مي‌كرد و موقع شنيدن آنها چه احساسي داشت.

وقتي از نزديك با آرتا كار كني، تازه متوجه مي‌شوي كه چرا او آرتافرانكلين شده. وقتي براي آهنگ «وقتت را تلف نكن» از آلبوم «مري» من با هم كار كرديم، او آمد در استوديو و مثل آب خوردن قطعه را خواند. خيلي بهتر از آنچه كه تصور مي‌كرديم.
